In a retaliatory move, the United States announced on Friday that it was suspending 44 Chinese passenger flights operated by Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines and Xiamen Airlines. The U.S. suspended Chinese flights in response to restrictive moves by Beijing on U.S. carriers in a dispute that has been brewing since the pandemic erupted. Earlier, China had canceled flights by American, Delta and United airlines using its ‘circuit breaker’ policy where routes are halted if too many infections are brought in on flights.
