For sure we are all different. The main thing I learned from the book was to stop worrying that I couldn’t sleep straight through the night because there were other ways of getting at least adequate sleep.
This is very sad about your FIL. Dementia makes every other problem so much worse because the person suffering with it cannot understand what is happening. I will pray for him.
Thank you. He came through surgery fine but he’s not really communicating. The dr said if he is able to do physical therapy at the hospital, he can go back to memory care and they can continue there. If not , he’ll have to go to rehab 😢.

Sending you FIL to rehab is very alarming to me.
My sister, who had Dementia, fell and messed up her ankle, had surgery, was doing great until they sent her to rehab.
Rehab did not address her other needs.
Family insisted she be taken to the hospital as they were afraid she had had a stroke, she hadn’t, was severely dehydrated.
Rehab killed her, she died one year ago today.
I am still angry!
It has something to do with being horizontal. …. and older.

I had an iodine nose swab before surgery three or four years ago and at the time they told me it was to help prevent MERS.
