Blue Cheer’s Vincebus Eruptum came out in 1968.
Vincibus Eruptum is a great album, but it is more protometal, much like the MC5’s “Kick out the Jams.” Sabbath were the first to use an album entirely dependent on power chords, rhythms, etc.
