Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) said on Wednesday that coronavirus “vaccines are saving lives” and “are reducing mortality.”
“If you are vaccinated, fully vaccinated, the chances of you getting seriously ill or dying from Covid is effectively zero,” he said. “If you look at the people being admitted to hospitals, over 95 percent of them are either not fully vaccinated or not vaccinated. And so these vaccines are saving lives.”
DeSantis also touted the vaccines for reducing mortality rates.
“They are reducing mortality. Mortality in nursing homes since we rolled out the vaccines in December is down 95 percent due to Covid. Mortality for elderly people since we rolled out the vaccines is down nearly 90 percent,” he said. “So we’re proud in Florida that we put seniors first on that list because they were the most vulnerable. We have 85 percent of our seniors that are vaccinated and about 75 percent of folks over the age of 50. We have no mandate. We’ve provided information to people and we’ve been very honest about any data that comes out.”
DeSantis acknowledged that some vaccinated people “can test positive … but they don’t get seriously ill in except maybe rare instances, there’s always one-off on stuff.”
However, continued the governor, “in Florida, your chance of surviving if you’re vaccinated is close to 100 percent.”

So is support for vaccines and vaccination a redline issue?
Because if it is President Trump and Gov. DeSantis are not going to be supported.
Fine. Okay, which national figure should people support for President?
The final data on flu season 2019/2020 was released by the CDC in April as COVID-19 continued to spread throughout the United States. Between October 1, 2019 and April 4, 2020, the flu resulted in: 39 to 56 million illnesses 410,000 to 740,000 hospitalizations 24,000 to 62,000 deaths 195 pediatric deaths Flu or Coronavirus?
************************************************************
I’m a big Trump fan AND De Santis fan and will continue to be. But, the foregoing is CDC published information. So, it begs the questions of WHY are we not mandating a flu shot, why are we not locking people in their houses that have the Flu or think they have the Flu, why did we not close all the restaurants and bankrupt them when the Flu first got started, why have we not closed all the schools? WHY did we not forcefully close millions of businesses?
Has the CDC and others mixed flu data with Covid data? More specifically, are hospitals and other agencies reporting flu deaths as Covid deaths? Why did Flu deaths drop dramatically after Covid got started? Does anybody involved in this with a medical degree know what the hell they are doing?
Article is from July 2021. Why is it being posted again?
Desantis has moved from the vax to setting up monoclonal clinics as an alternative ways of combatting the virus. I think that was why at the time he supported the vax. If he was still gun ho on the vax he would have never done this! Trump still touts Operation Warp Speed.
Merry Christmas baggie
It’s time to pause and consider the birth of the savior. Have a good night
I don’t agree. l also must point out that you failed to find any quote from the Governor taking back these statements under discussion. I believe Desantis like Trump supports both therapeutic methods and the vaccines. The only odd thing is why the Democrats are so hostile to therapeutics... but that’s a whole other novel.
Tonight, you live.
Well why do you think? It’s for the peanut gallery that have been busy in their basement of late shooting spitballs at Trump for what he said and saying their not going to support Trump anymore, oblivious to the fact the other guy said the same thing just a few months ago and never changed what he said. They are on the same page. Advocated for the vaccine. Against mandates.
Thanks to the Trump Administration's Operation Warp Speed, Coronavirus vaccines and therapeutics are being developed at record speed! pic.twitter.com/3gYBO46ArW— The White House 45 Archived (@WhiteHouse45) October 11, 2020
He may be saying because he’s going to run for VP with Trump.
Congratulations!

I am sticking with the argument that it must be a free choice for everyone whether or not to take the jab. I have and will not take it but I have NEVER taken a flu shot in my life as far as I know.
Sorry, I can't hear you.
Sorry Ron, but I want my cells producing the proteins my DNA instructs them to produce and that is not the SAR-CoV-2 spike protein. Should I catch the virus I hope my immune system can handle it. If not I’ll just leave things in the good Lords hands.

Sure, I've been neck deep in this for almost 2 years in my area of expertise with first hand experience the entire time. In addition, I've reviewed multitudes of published articles both peer reviewed and non peer reviewed. The vast majority of printed material regarding the danger of the vaccines and the relative safety of a non vaccinated status is complete and total BS. It's clear in the literature and it's concretely born out in actual clinical experience. I have told so many patients to say goodbye to their families via an f’n laptop, I can't even tell you. Do you have any idea how many “but why's?’ and tears and sobbing and regret and death and suffering I have personally been witness to? Everyone who dies from this, dies alone except for the staff who is their make-shift loved ones. And you, are telling me to ‘wake up’? I cannot tell you how discouraged and venomous my thoughts are to your sentiment. |

I have told so many patients to say goodbye to their families via an f’n laptop, I can't even tell you.
Oh. You're one of them. One of those denying patients the right to see family members, enforcing complete isolation. That's the CDC's protocol - it crushes the will to live and keeps the patient from any sort of advocacy. How sad.
Do you have any idea how many “but why's?’ and tears and sobbing and regret and death and suffering I have personally been witness to?
How can you stand it? Why hasn't your conscience forced you to take action. All those successful treatments could save many of those patients, but you still enforce the catastrophic CDC 'Covid Protocol' barring useful drugs and essentially euthanizng patients, after isolating them sufficiently. WHy they cry, and ask, "But why..." it apparently doesn't move you to stop what you're doing. Is it pride that keeps you from using the successful treatments developed by Dr. Zelenko, Dr. Kory, Dr. McCullough and his peers. There's no reason for you to be part of the horror.
Everyone who dies from this, dies alone except for the staff who is their make-shift loved ones.
Hopefully they didn't figure out it was your implementation of the CDC Covid Protocol that was shutting down their organs with Remdesivir. I hope they didn't realize they didn't need to be immobilized on their backs, intubated, flooded with IV solution while Remdesivir shut down their kidneys. I hope they didn't know about the Midazolam. It would be horrible to be essentially held hostage by people unmoved by the damage they are causing, and die alone with them in the room.
I cannot tell you how discouraged and venomous my thoughts are to your sentiment.
I really hope your patients didn't see realize the kind of venomous thinking you easily resort to. Wouldn't that be awful?
Re: 254 - A suggestion.
Ignore some FReepers. They have previously made personal comments about the family members of FReepers, while others have previously posted information about COVID-19 that is false - and they knew it.
There’s something to arguing in good faith and being able to discern facts in any post. But for some who post misinformation, and keep posting the same misinformation, just from different “news” outlets, it makes discerning what they post problematic.
