A couple weeks ago I took my daughter to McDonald's for McRib season. The drive through was backed up so I took her inside for a little change of pace. They had a classic rock station playing in the background. The Pretenders, "My City Was Gone," came on the radio, and after the first few lines of the intro played, I was subconsciously anticipating hearing Rushes voice.

I lost my Rush and my dad within a week of each other last February. They both would want us to keep living and forging ahead.

I took my family to a store on the afternoon of Rush’s death. When we pulled back into my driveway I broke down and bawled loudly for the longest time.
