It was Baldwin's first public appearance since Monday night, when he was seen on video lunging at a tabloid reporter with an umbrella in hand outside Allen's Upper East Side townhouse.
New York Post's Jon Levine attempted to quiz the actor about his recent claim that he did not pull the trigger and fire the shot that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during the filming of his low-budget Western, Rust, in October.
Baldwin refused to engage, and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, repeatedly asked the journalist to leave and 'please go away,' and trained her cellphone camera on him.
When Levine would not stop asking questions about the shooting, Alec charged at him while grasping his umbrella and yelling that he was not allowed to be on someone's private property. He did not make contact with the reporter, who pointed out to him that the sidewalk was, in fact, public property.

I must have grabbed up every stupid gun in the store, not ONE of mine will do a thing...not even one...hell, my old el cheapo .22 RG 14 has been loaded and ready, full time for about 15 years, I have to pull the damn trigger myself to get it to even think about firing...ditto for every one of them...I have about 7 or 8 guns not counting the pellet pistol and I can’t get anything I own to fire unless I go to all the trouble of cocking it and pulling the trigger...OK, for the semi autos I just have to pull the trigger...but single action or double, they all just sit there and make faces at me...even my old rickety 12 gauge 1901 H&R single shot that’s a wall hanger...I thought for sure it might but noooooo....
Why can’t I find a smart gun like Baldwin did? All of mine are just dumb as a box of rocks...
Same with me. I guess I’ve only handled those darn stupid guns too. Can’t get any of them to fire all by themselves. But, since I’m not as smart as Arec, I still never point one of those stupid guns at a person.
