My son, his wife and his mother-in-law were there. He called me as they were walking to safety. At first they didn’t know what was happening but quickly realized someone was shooting. He wanted me to monitor the news to see if I could learn what was going on. He didn’t get home until 6AM. Longest night of my life.
Thankfully, they were all unhurt and have suffered no lasting trauma from it. They do have a lasting anger that it was all just forgotten. Sheriff Lombardi is running for governor of Nevada now. His failures during that massacre will come back to haunt him in that race.
I remember Mindy from the “Stop the Steal” rallies here. She was fairly unknown outside of Nevada then but now is making a national name for herself. God bless her. I will be watching her documentary.
If I remember correctly, General Flynn had retweeted her a number of times.
I know someone who was there and he will not talk about it, which is really weird for him. He usually talks nonstop about everything, but mention of Las Vegas/Route 91 shuts him up completely.
We also had invited a couple of people who had been injured at Route 91 to speak at an event. The day before, they cancelled with the excuse that their lawyers had told them they shouldn't talk, since there was still litigation going on. Which was strange, because they were there to talk about their medical treatments at the hospital and not Route 91 specifically. It would have been really easy for them to step around the topic, but they got shut down, which left us scrambling for someone to fill in as speakers.
