And may be due to volcanic activity rather than due to plate subduction which leads to rip of the entire length from BC down to N California which generates the worse case Tsunami and the 9+ earthquake. There are also partial rips which generate smaller Tsunamis
I have volunteered at several Oregon State Parks on the coast the last few summers. I’m glad I’m not there now.
