If it only snows 1-2 inches it won’t be anything, now the wind may be another story.
I’m going to hit Slaveway early tomorrow to get some fresh vegetables and a few other things, then I’ll be ready.
Lunatic!
I saw that the other day - just unbelievable.
So sad that people aren’t collectively realizing that THIS is what happens to a society that abandons God and family values.
so they did hear the case.
Supreme Court rejects religious challenge to NY vaccine mandate
Justices Thomas, Alito, and Gorsuch dissented
Gorsuch wrote in his dissent that the mandate turns away the very doctors and nurses the state has depended on throughout the course of the pandemic.
“We do all this even though the State’s executive decree clearly interferes with the free exercise of religion—and does so seemingly based on nothing more than fear and anger at those who harbor unpopular religious beliefs,” Gorsuch wrote.
“We allow the State to insist on the dismissal of thousands of medical workers—the very same individuals New York has depended on and praised for their service on the pandemic’s front lines over the last 21 months,” he continued. “To add insult to injury, we allow the State to deny these individuals unemployment benefits too. One can only hope today’s ruling will not be the final chapter in this grim story.”

Gemenids 12/21
Catch the peak of the Geminid meteor shower on Dec. 13-14
The Geminid meteor shower is set to peak this coming Monday night into Tuesday morning, but the presence of another celestial object may limit the viewing potential for one of the best annual meteor showers.
A reason why the Geminids are so popular is due to the fact that it is active all night long, not just during the middle of the night. It also boasts over 100 meteors per hour under ideal conditions, but onlookers should curb expectations for this year’s showing due to the moon.
“The bright gibbous moon will hinder viewing conditions this year,” Robert Lunsford told AccuWeather in an email. Lunsford is the journal editor for the American Meteor Society (AMS). “The moonlight will obscure the fainter Geminids, which make up a majority of the meteors seen.”
However, the moon will not be glowing all night long, providing a window of opportunity for some good viewing.
The meteor shower is also known to have bright, slow meteors that skywatchers can easily see, according to Space.com.
However, this year may be a challenge. The moon will be nearly 80% full during the Geminids’ peak, according to NASA.
Brightness from the moon can sometimes wash out meteors and make it harder to spot them zooming across the sky.
“This year, a waxing gibbous moon will be above the horizon during peak time for viewing,” EarthSky reported. “But it’ll set shortly afterwards, leaving the sky dark for watching meteors.”
The Geminids, as their name implies, appear to emanate from the bright constellation Gemini, the twins. To find Gemini in the Northern Hemisphere, look in the southwestern sky for the constellation Orion, the hunter, which is easy to spot by the three stars in the hunter’s “belt.”3 days ago

SCOTUS really is devolving into a 3-3-3, at best.

I can’t overstate how many people I know got the vaccine so they could “get back to normal life” only to have that rug ripped right out from under them. And now they’re all “yeah, not doing that again.” Great job, everyone.

NYC residents were promised no masks if you get the shot-
Huge majority of New Yorkers got the shot, and now we have to wear masks anyway *AND get another shot*

There is no constitutional, legal, or rational basis for reimposing a mask mandate in California.
The “emergency” is now 2 years old
“The select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol voted 9-0 on Monday evening to recommend that the House brings criminal contempt charges against former President Donald Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows.
The former Republican congressman complied with a subpoena to provide thousands of pages of evidence related to Jan. 6, but he stopped cooperating when he felt the panel wanted him to divulge information protected by executive privilege.
“Whatever legacy [Meadows] thought he left in the House, this is his legacy now,” Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., said during the committee’s opening remarks, The Associated Press reported. “His former colleagues singling him out for criminal prosecution because he wouldn’t answer questions about what he knows about a brutal attack on our democracy. That’s his legacy.”
