Government opposes Josh Duggar's request to prohibit witness' testimony
On Tuesday, the government opposed the request from Josh Duggar's attorneys to prohibit witness Bobye Holt's testimony.
In new court documents obtained by Fox News, an assistant United States attorney claimed Bobye Holt's testimony should not be prevented by "clergy privilege," as Duggar's attorneys claimed.
The government argues that Holt is “not clergy or a church leader…She is simply a long-time family friend of the defendant and the mother of the girl he was dating when he molested Jane Does 1 through 4."
"The defendant is asking the Court to adopt an interpretation of the clergy-penitent privilege that is so unprecedently overbroad as to render it unenforceable. The crux of his claim is that Mrs. Holt, who firmly disavowed having a position in the church or any privileged relationship with the defendant, was nevertheless clergy for purposes of the privilege because he confided in her and they prayed together, or because her husband was an ‘elder’ in that church, or because of some combination of these factors and unevidenced inferences," the court papers continue.

Pas me a tear. I don’t have any....................
Throw away the key.
I am guessing Bobye is pronounced “Bobby”. But the name could possibly be pronounced to rhyme with “Kanye” (Bob yay), or else pronounced to rhyme with “Popeye” (Bob eye).
