How did they know he was there?Cockpit system indicators may have told them something was not right. My question is, how did he survive? Most who try this, don’t.

He probably was seen descending from the wheel well. He would likely not jump out as the plane taxies to the terminal and at the terminal here would be attendants arriving immediately to service the plane and unload the hold. he would have an audience.
