“escaped to southern WA state. Much more beautiful and mild summers.”
I lived in Camas and Washougal, off Rte 14, up on a ridge overlooking Columbia river gorge.
When I’d get sick of the winter rains I’d head up 14 to Bridge of the gods, then go up the Mount Hood on the east side to Timberline lodge for dinner. The rain turns to snow going up the mountain. Dreary rain into Winter wonderland. I’d return via the west side thru Portland due to the isolation at night on the east side if I’d broken down or wrecked.
Enjoy.
Avoid the I-5 cities with the crazies. And watchout for the wild fires.
You must have been my neighbor!!
I could see Columbia river and city of Portland from my tall 3 story house. Loved living there for 12 years.
