Windows 95 brought together the features of MSDOS and Microsoft Windows products into one operating system. The user-interface upgrade at the time blew the competition away.
The 32bit operating system paved the way for Microsoft’s firmer grip on the PC/Desktop market. Robust sales and reception laid the groundwork for the company’s future OS installments.
Relish the nostalgia and run Windows 95 on PC without having to install it on your partition. There are few ways to do that, some involve online on your browser, and others rely on your PC’s emulation capabilities.

WHYYYYYYYYYY??????
Kind of like our current government officials gaslighting (excuse me,LECTURING) us!
I remember 95 being an absolute bear trying to get some hardware to work properly. Had to have a degree in computers to I stall some hardware as I remember?
Is Clippy there?
One of them had a good Pinball game.
Hysterical. Oh, Chris Farley.
I wish we didn't have to run emulators but it's a no-brainer to chose running an emulator versus replacing millions of dollars of equipment dispersed throughout entire regions.
So you need seriel numbers or product ID numbers for those downloads?
NM i see that you do have to have product id
Cosmo’s Cosmic Adventure from Apogee ranks very high on my list of favorite games.
ME TOO!!!!!!! “It makes a grown man cry...”
You do realize that you can play the original hearts and a bunch of other games that stopped being included after Windows 7 in Windows 10, and Windows 11? I can't remember where I downloaded the package; it is available from multiple sources. Choose the link you think is safest from below or do a search for Windows 7 games on Windows 10. There were no ads or crapware attached to the file that I downloaded.

Many or most have working serial numbers in the comments associated. Or you can find them on by doing a search. You do not need them to download the files.

Yeah, too many worship at the altar of theft that is windows. A pox on Bill Gates and 5 generations of his family. Please let it be bigpox…
Yes, I had gotten those games years ago on an earlier PC. I just had the impulse to play Win 95 Hearts when the link was presented in the original post and wanted to express my disappointment that it wasn’t included.

Its not the emulators, its Windows 95 thats the question. Hell run Win XP in an emulator, but 95?
I understand... I just wanted to let you know that there were other options available to you and forgot that I actually already had it installed on my Windows 10 computer until you mentioned it. It looks lust like the days of old. The Windows 93 web page is strictly for entertainment and does not include everything that Windows 95 did.
I think we even have 8-bit hardware out there.
Heh, of course I am only joking...funny, I just had a long conversation last night about how terrible Windows 95 was from a stability perspective, then they went went to what...Windows NT/Vista/2000! Gack!
But Windows XP was not bad, Windows 7 was better. Operating systems don’t crash as often now (rarely, even) but in those early days of Windows 95, my computer would crash on average 5-10 times a day.
It drove me mad, but...I learned to save early and save often!
I never did learn 5o save files, lol. (Stupid short term memory issue lol)
I woild crash maybe once every 2 or 3 days. I t was maddening even at that rate. That I do not miss at all lol 😆
ThanksI wave a windows 10 laptop that was given to us, and it is slow as molasses- I mean really bad. I put Linux on it as dual boot option, but even with Linux, its still slow. I doubt that formatting and putting windows 95 or 98 on it will help, but maybe. I do have windows 7 is, but not sure that a windows 10,machine can be “downgraded” using a windows 10 product ID number for windows 7 installation?.
