Dems advance people who are ethically challenged because they’re completely under control of the handlers. People in the closet (Tim Kaine) or openly criminal (Joe Biden) are useful to Deep State.
This means they’ve already got the goods on Kamala. They’ve got some kickback or other deal she did outside the bounds of the law or they’d have never put her on the ticket in the first place.
So they’ve seen that she’s fighting back leaking to CNN that she’s been put in a no win position and Pete is favored because he’s a white male.
She’ll be told to step down for family or health reasons or else they’ll Agnew her out of office to stop the bleeding.
Before you say this sounds far fetched, remember Joe was finishing third or fourth in the actual voting in the Dem primary. The handlers stepped in, the waters parted, everyone made their best deal, and stepped aside to endorse Joe. That then set up, well, you know the rest.
If Biden’s days are numbered to at least 1/20/25, it doesn’t matter.

Let’s assume Harris leaves office in one way or the other. Either she’s privately threatened with indictment for something, or she’s enticed into taking a place on the Supreme Court, after one of the liberal justices has been persuaded to resign, possibly in the same manner. If the Democrats stick together, Harris herself can break the tie and be confirmed. Now, the vice-presidency is vacant and any replacement has to be confirmed by the Senate, but this creates another problem.
It will be understood that whoever the Democrats are proposing, that person will assume the presidency as Biden will resign in time to save the November election. However, since there is now vice-president, there is no one to break the tie in the Senate to confirm whomever the Democrats nominate. They need one vote from the Republican side, and who do we suppose might be willing to help? Who might be so unprincipled to sell their vote to save the Democrats? There are, of course, many possibilities, but Romney comes first to mind. So, by these unlikely circumstances Romney becomes the Democrats’ hero. What’s his price? Well, there’s now a vacancy for the office of vice-president.
Getting a new Vice President past the Senate advice-and-consent requirement may be an interesting proposition ...
