I tweaked my knee a couple of weeks ago, and while it's not terribly painful, there is still some localized tenderness. My medical intervention (limping) is not making it better. I thought I'd give up and go see the Doc.
So, I called to schedule an appointment...
My original PCP is no longer there
The new PCP assigned by the payer, is no longer there
Called the payer for a new list of eligible docs
None of them are with the practice anymore, either.
I explained my problem to the 4th practice I called and she explained that "a whole lot of docs have left and we haven't been able to replace them. We're not taking new patients."
This is a large group (statewide) that is owned by Hospital Corporation of America, one of the nations biggest HC companies @ about $50B in revenue.
When I asked, so why are all the docs leaving?
She could only say "oh, I don't know." Said it so fast it sounded like one word.
She knew.
I can only speculate that it's because of the mandate. That, or they're dying off.
Knee still hurts
Castor oil packs are practically miraculous. Freepmail me if you want to know how.
Somebody came to work yesterday sick as a dog, running a fever. Didn’t have the covick tho — just the boooster. Wanted to shake her. Stop it!
Mark
Prayers up for you and your knee.
