Here’s a clip from the old TV show “I’ve Got a Secret”. The year was 1956. The contestant witnessed Lincoln’s assassination!

As a child, mother recalls her old uncle Robert, born in 1854, telling her how as a boy, he climbed a telegraph pole in Buffalo NY, to watch Lincoln’s funeral cortege pass by.
It was always an interesting story until one day we were in town and visited the Buffalo History Museum. We saw a photo of Lincoln’s funeral cortege stopped in front of city hall at the time. And there, on a telegraph pole across the street, was a shadow of a figure...

He is making the Sign of The Cross blessing.

That’s wild, he was born a year after Lincoln. If Lincoln wasn’t assassinated there’s a chance he could have been filmed as well,

Leo XIII probably consulted one of those secret Vatican texts and knew what was coming.

What? Was there a video chip shortage in 1896 as well? These supply chain problems just never quit, do they?
Heh, heh...you got me! Good catch. I guess I should have said “movie camera and movie film” to be more correct.

They weren’t even called “movies” yet. Moving pictures was the usual term.

Dang, corrected twice on one post! Can somebody find a third boo-boo?I accept your challenge. (Those who look for trouble always find it.)
I wasn't correcting you, I was merely offering up some trivia. IMO it wasn't even wrong to call it video.
It's all good. :)

As Rush used to say all the time, “words mean things.” Precision in language is good.

Photography started in the 1840’s. Pope Leo was nowhere near the earliest born person.
There were people born in the mid 1700’s photographed.

To: GrandJediMasterYoda
At least there are pictures of Lincoln

Please note that we’re not talking about pictures here. We’re talking about movies (motion pictures). Leo XIII was the earliest-born person to be in a movie.
At least that’s what the YouTube Tube poster claims.

(The above is not a statement of fact. It is either opinion, or satire. Or both.)
