I would much prefer a wedding where a traditional ceremonial Haka was performed over the embarrassing rituals that I have witnessed in the past to include, smashing the cake into your newly betrothed’s face, the inevitable scrum of overweight spinsters wrestling for the bouquet, or the multitude of attendees who seem to think that shorts and tank tops are appropriate attire for such an occasion.
They are from the government, and they are a set of leading questions designed to entrap the responder into saying that although they're against the use of stem cells from fetuses, they have used medications in the past that have a similar history.
Your past medical history is none of their business. I pointed that out when asked similar questions by the government agency for whom I work. And I went on to attack them on the grounds of not having informed consent.

Sure, but I think you can have a more informed opinion of the Maori peoples.
I think some folks have lost some of the traditional consequences of marriage. The Maori look at the union as agreements between families/tribes. These attitudes remain prevalent in many cultures (especially among the "elite"). To most, outside of the super selfish American nuptials, the wedding is about the community in addition to the bride and groom.
I think it's super cool that the Maori welcomed this fellah into their fold in such a high energy way. He belongs to them now and they will treat him and his family as their own.
