So, the scrubbed Red Cross article specifically stated antibodies from vaccinated people wipes out antibodies in those who receive the convalescent plasma and was dated prior to 2/24/21?

I’ve found news articles referencing it, and also several fact-checkers disputing it. But we all know fact-checkers will get some of the ‘facts’ wrong so they can claim the story is false because of the incorrectly-stated facts. But the internet never forgets!

Yes, I posted a link to a news article about it dated 2/23.

https://www.komu.com/news/covid19/vaccine/american-red-cross-says-vaccinated-donors-can-give-blood-not-convalescent-plasma/article_d137f5c8-7616-11eb-9715-6707fa0d47d6.html

I saw it with my own eyes on the Red Cross site, as did my husband, son and many here on FR. It shocked me enough that I sent them a link to their site stating this.

Here’s another news story from that date... from the original story (not the May update)

Officials say the vaccine depletes antibodies created by a person’s body that has successfully recovered from COVID-19. As a result, their plasma is no longer useful to someone critically ill with the virus. Convalescent plasma therapy was authorized by the FDA to be used by people suffering from COVID-19.

Here are earlier threads about this....

THE RED CROSS DOESN'T WANT BLOOD FROM THE VACCINATED (specifies blood donations for 'convalescent plasma' donations to help those hospitalized with Covid-19)
bitchute.com ^ | May 19, 2021. | TruthVideos1984

Posted on 5/19/2021, 8:20:22 PM by ransomnote

Quote from the video; "The Red Cross says anyone who has received their vaccine cannot donate convalescent plasma to help other Covid-19 patients in hospitals. That plasma is made up of antibodies from people who have recovered from the virus, but the vaccine wipes out those antibodies, making the convalescent plasma ineffective in treating other Covid-19 patients."

~~~~~~~
Thread from when original post, by Red Cross....not accepting "vax"d blood donations was posted....link has since been replaced, with updated RC post....
In chat. Not news. In chitchat: what does this mean: those that have been vaccinated not able to donate convalescent plasma with the Red Cross.
“ individuals who have received a COVID-19 vaccine are not able to donate convalescent plasma with the Red Cross.”
Who needs convalescent plasma?
Do those afflicted with Covid need this?
~~~~~~~~~

And, here's where it looks like the RC changed their original warning/non-acceptance of CV "vax"d blood donations....

Fact Check- Is Red Cross accepting plasma from people vaccinated against COVID-19?
Reuters ^ | May 2021 | Reuters Fact Check

Posted on 5/23/2021, 12:30:31 PM by SeekAndFind

The American Red Cross confirmed to Reuters that they are allowing people who have received the COVID-19 vaccine to donate plasma (the liquid component in blood), contrary to claims on social media that this plasma is not being accepted because the vaccine is “so untested”.

The confusion may have arisen over the Red Cross’ policy on convalescent plasma, meaning plasma that has COVID-19 antibodies after recent infection and can be used as a treatment for COVID-19 infection. The American Red Cross’ current policy is to only accept convalescent plasma donations from people who have recovered from COVID-19 and have not had the vaccine. Although, if plasma donated by people vaccinated against COVID-19 has a high-level of COVID-19 antibodies it may be used as convalescent plasma.

The posts (here) say “The Red Cross won’t accept plasma donations from people who have had the Covid vaccine. You’re willing to put something in your body that is so untested that the FDA and Red Cross don’t know if you can donate Plasma, yet me not wanting to take it makes me irresponsible?” This appears to have come from a tweet, originally viewable here .

Some posts ( here ) show the full tweet which includes a screenshot of a genuine page on the American Red Cross website saying people who have received the COVID-19 vaccine cannot donate convalescent plasma here .

Plasma – not convalescent plasma – can, however, be donated to the Red Cross by vaccinated individuals (here ).

From your link....

...Update - May 27: We have an update to the story below that we brought you in February. At that time, a representative of the American Red Cross said the organization’s policy was to discourage convalescent plasma donations from donors who previously had COVID-19 and were then vaccinated because of a then-belief about antibodies. While the Red Cross discontinued dedicated COVID-19 convalescent plasma donations on March 26 due to declining hospital demand and sufficient industry supply, a Red Cross representative now tells us that based on FDA guidance, individuals who had COVID-19 and were vaccinated could donate convalescent plasma....

~~~
They keep calling it a ‘lack of demand’ .... interesting, yes?
Yes, especially since they were pleading for convalescent plasma in Jan-Feb
Yes, I saw that article while searching.
What I’m trying to confirm is, the Red Cross website specifically used the wording ‘wiped out’? Or did it just say they couldn’t donate, because I did find some Red Cross documents stating that.
For example, this press release in early February: https://www.redcross.org/about-us/news-and-events/press-release/2021/winter-weather-gives-blood-donation-the-cold-shoulder-cozy-up-to-giving-blood-and-receive-a-thank-you-amazon-gift-card.html
VACCINES: As of February 1, 2021, there is no wait period to donate after receiving COVID-19 vaccines manufactured by AstraZeneca, Janssen/J&J, Moderna, Novavax or Pfizer, as long as individuals are feeling healthy and well. Individuals who receive a COVID-19 vaccine and do not know which manufacturer it was from will need to wait two weeks to donate. Individuals who have received a COVID-19 vaccine are not able to donate convalescent plasma with the Red Cross at this time.
I found these guidelines for convalescent plasma from the FDA dated 2/11/21:
https://www.fda.gov/media/136798/download
To ensure that COVID-19 convalescent plasma collected from donors contains antibodies directly related to their immune responses to SARS-CoV2 infection, you should not collect COVID-19 convalescent plasma from:
i. Individuals who have received an investigational COVID-19 vaccine as a participant in a clinical trial, or received an authorized or licensed COVID-19 vaccine, unless they:
1) had symptoms of COVID-19 and a positive test result from a diagnostic test approved, cleared, or authorized by FDA (i.e., individuals who meet the qualification for evidence of COVID-19 described in section III.B.1.a.1 above), AND
2) received the COVID-19 vaccine after diagnosis of COVID-19, AND
3) are within 6 months after complete resolution of COVID-19
symptoms.
I much prefer finding the source material instead of trusting someone else to report the news. They often get it wrong, like this one (this is the news story that features in a lot of the social media stories going around):
https://www.kmov.com/news/can-i-donate-blood-after-receiving-the-covid-19-vaccine/article_ab882f7c-761c-11eb-a260-3ffd6acbb688.html
The supply of convalescent plasma, used to help treat COVID-19 hospital patients, is in question, after health officials said anyone who receives the COVID-19 vaccine cannot donate convalescent plasma.
Officials say the vaccine depletes antibodies created by a person’s body that has successfully recovered from COVID-19. As a result, their plasma is no longer useful to someone critically ill with the virus. Convalescent plasma therapy was authorized by the FDA to be used by people suffering from COVID-19.
AND...their update to the story at the same link:
Update - May 27: We have an update to the story below that we brought you in February. Yep, the whole progression from Feb to May was stunning. It was completely “memory-holed”
Not only was it bad that the RC did a 180, and the fact checkers claimed it was “conspiracy theory” stuff, but it is scary how they were able to get so many news stations to change their story. Very Orwellian.
I believe the wording was “counteracts existing antibodies”. You can keep spinning your wheels, but it was undeniable what was meant and we now have 3 news stories (that survived the purge) from that date that confirm it
You won’t find it on the Red Cross website, it was taken down, as in taken down within a day or two. You won’t find it cached on Google either.
Might be a bit off topic, but:
............................
BREAKING: An 8 year old boy was allegedly kicked off of his school bus and left on the side of the road in Livingston, Montana because he didn't have a face mask. We can now confirm that the bus driver has been placed on leave pending an investigation.
............................
Livingston is about 150 miles West of The Homestead, just East of Bozeman and usually considered to be more liberal because of that vicinity. Sure didn't sound anything but liberally PO'd when the statewide radio call-in program was runnin' this morning about this deal.
JMHO if that bus driver's got any sense at all, he's relocating as far from any Montana Mom as he can get.
Montana Dads don't sound very happy either.
I’m happy to hear that! Hopefully what’s happening to the children will get even the liberal mom’s and Dad aware and involved. And pissed!
