(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 21 - Experts named by prosecutors said Thursday that an 18-year-old Italian student who died after getting the AstraZneca jab in a Genoa hospital last June died of a thrombosis caused by the vaccine. Medical examiner Luca Tajana and haematologist Franco Piovella said in their report that Camilla Canepa's death "is reasonably to be linked to an adverse reaction to the anti-COVID vaccine". The young woman from Sestri Levante was healthy and her medical history was recorded correctly, they said. (ANSA).
My personal opinion only not advice to anyone else. I will not be vaccinating my 8 year old right away. As it stands kids (i’m talking healthy kids with no underlying diseases or risk factors) can get sick from covid but it is quite rare. I plan to wait a year or so as long as this continues to be true. If in a year we have more experience and covid is still an issue I will likely have her vaccinated.
It is an individual risk benefit for everyone. I have been fully vaccinated and took the booster so I am clearly not opposed to the vaccine i’m just not sure the risk of covid is high enough in healthy kids to take any risk no matter how small from the vaccine. I encourage you to discuss it with your pediatrician.
Here's a link to the replica edition. I don't know what page it was on.
Here's some relevant material from the story:
"For older people, the effects of the vaccination are profound. In late August, near the height of the delta wave, 24 out of every 10,000 unvaccinated Americans 65 and above were hospitalized with covid symptoms. . . . Among fully vaccinated Americans 65 and above, the number was 1.5 per 10,000."
"Only 67 percent of American adults with a four-year college degree have received a shot, compared with 82 percent of college graduates."
To look at the graph, with the line representing our country spiking like Mt. Everest among the rolling foothills of the other developed countries is to make a person wonder about the vaunted caring of our people for one another.
What makes you think your statistics are any more reliable?
Everybody is lying—that is why I won’t go near these vaccines—not the first shot, not the second shot, not booster 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9A or 9B!
That’s a nice way of not having to study anything or think about anything. Just say everybody’s lying.
Relax and enjoy your simple theory while others struggle to get off ventilators.
I have lived long and prospered by demanding years of honesty before I trust people—not broken, so no way I am fixing it.
“I would appreciate the same level of respect for those who voluntarily choose to get the jab”
I respect your right to make your choice. I used to support those who chose to get a shot, but don’t any more. They are encouraging the tyranny and I can’t support that that.
I, I, I
We are the most poorly educated nation on earth. Those that we consider less well educated than us simply have less education. We have education that teaches the wrong things, which is much, much worse.
” I used to support those who chose to get a shot, but don’t any more. “
I used to respect your choice not to get the shot — and I still do. To each their own. My body, my choice.
I own my body—that makes me selfish.
But, it is the most selfish people on the planet who live in fear and try to boss everyone else around...
Is this the one vaccine death? No others have occurred. Safer than a saline injection.
BS.
If bossing people around is their motive, sure. But what if their motive is preventing suffering and saving lives?
Thanks. I agree with your viewpoint but I cannot understand the science. I was happy to take vaccines thruout childhood. What makes this vaccine even a risk to little kids? They give vaccines to infants, Hep B to children, etc. These are my grandkids so not in my control.
I’m not saying this vaccine is any riskier than any other for kids. I don’t know that for sure. What I am saying is all vaccine/medication poses some risk no matter how slight. In this case I don’t think the threat of covid in children is high enough to take any risk - I would prefer to wait until there was a about a year of data before proceeding. If covid starts making children sicker or God forbid we start seeing children hospitalized or dying from covid my assessment would change. It’s all about the risk of the disease vs the risk of the vaccination. In adults over 30 who do not have natural immunity I think the vaccination makes sense. in younger people people I think the relative risks need to be assessed on an individual basis.
Thanks for this reply. A friend of mine cited severe reaction to covid19 in young children, but I do not know the number of severe reactions in the total no. of kids known to have had the virus. I suspect it’s somewhere in the range of .001%.
Frankly, the zeitgeist today feels like an invisible layer of fear hangs over people, which reminds me of a scene from Atlas Shrugged at Hank Rearden’s party. Gossipy ladies are whispering about vague rumors evil things happening in the world . That fear which Ayn Rand imagined in her US of the future has come true.
