The woman responsible for handling weapons on the set of Alec Baldwin's "Rust" had only recently taken on a gig as a head armorer, and shared she had real doubts about doing the job.
Hannah Reed -- daughter of Hollywood armorer Thell Reed -- appeared on the "Voices of the West" podcast last month to talk about her new experiences in the biz. Reed told the hosts she had just wrapped a western movie with Nic Cage called "The Old Way" ... and it was her first time as head armorer on a movie.
In a now-eerie confession, Reed says of the Cage job, "You know, I was really nervous about it at first, and I almost didn't take the job because I wasn't sure if I was ready ... but, doing it, like, it went really smoothly."

In talking about her training, Reed told the podcast hosts loading blanks in prop guns was "the scariest" thing to her, because she didn't know how to do it ... but it was something her dad had helped her work through.

Low budget film. She was hired because she was “cheap”? Her resume looked good enough because her father had worked in the industry?
Still waiting for someone to ask why a live bullet was anywhere near a movie set.

Last 2 times I saw that happen, it was on Columbo and Monk.
Both times, a rat was involved.
(btw, The Lee incident was a blank round... not a real bullet)
Thee was also an incident where an actor thought he could fire a blank at his own head. Killed himself.
Union-busting choreographer killer.
Since this story comes from TMZ, you can bet that it was “assisted” by Arec’s legal and PR team to shift the blame to her.

What I’ve read is that she was nonunion. So why was she hired? Because the union employees had had enough of the mistakes and the unprofessionalism on going on the set. So they all quit.
So Baldwin hired a bunch of new people who didn’t know what they were doing. And as a result, he killed an innocent young woman.
