Asst. Director Handed Him Loaded Gun ... According to Warrant

The gun handed to Alec Baldwin before the fatal shooting on the "Rust" movie set was loaded with a live round ... according to a warrant from the ongoing police investigation.

The warrant says an assistant director handed the gun to Alec and told the actor it was safe to use before the deadly incident ... according to the warrant obtained by the Associated Press.

The warrant says the assistant director didn't know the gun was loaded, but it doesn't mention who actually loaded the gun ... which may become the central issue.

Alec's blood-stained costume from the movie has been taken as evidence, as well as the gun that went off, plus other prop guns and ammo being used on set, according to the warrant.

The warrant says Halyna Hutchins was shot in the chest and Joel Souza was wounded as he was standing behind her.

As we reported ... Alec pulled the trigger on the gun and the accident resulted in the death of 42-year-old cinematographer Hutchins. She was struck and airlifted to a hospital, where she died. Director Souza was also hit, but has reportedly been released from the hospital.

...according to an on-set source, the director had called for another take, when Baldwin (jokingly?) remarked: "Another take? How about I just fuckin' shoot the both of you?" before firing on the pair.

The story makes perfect sense. A deranged, violent, drug-addled egomaniac who has assaulted or threatened to assault numerous people, (including me personally) loses his temper and kills a person.

Everything else we hear is simply the lawyers and PR team trying to blame everyone EXCEPT the killer.

The questions are, why was there a live round on the set? Who purchased the ammo and brought it to the set? All six chambers of gun were probably loaded. Were five blanks and one live round loaded, and that one chambered to be first fired?

Nationwide the same union is in contract negotiations with producers and they have voted to strike if they don’t get what they want. Could a disgruntled union worker have loaded the live round to scare the producers?? I believe a thorough and honest investigation will reveal that to be the case. What say ye??

Proper action by the armorer would have detected the live round.

The casing was saved by the armorer, it may have fingerprints.

Those firearms should never have been out of the lock box until ready for use.

Sounds like live rounds are sometimes used on sets.

“1880 was fifteen years after the civil war.”

1885 was twenty years after the Civil war.

Evidence tampering!

“Proper action by the armorer would have detected the live round.”

The AD picked up the unattended gun and declared it ‘cold’.

Good points and the maintenance of prop weapons to ensure safe operable condition is the responsibility of the set armorer.

Gets down to what type of pistol, who owns them, most as I understand are rentals, and safe storage and handling protocols on site.

You and my wife.

“You just want to argue.”

Discussion, not an argument. Maybe you need to rethink your discussions with your wife?

Low budget movie with younger, inexperienced crew members.

Probably intimidated working under the great Alec.

Thanks for the info — I’m good with Baldwin going down for Involuntary Manslaughter.

That said, the more I read about Gutierrez, the more plausible a set-up seems. She loads the revolvers, leaves them unattended, takes the cartridges out after the shooting — thus tampering with evidence, allegedly continues to use a firearm that has gone off accidentally multiple times - wow. She’s a F___ Up of Jamie Gorelick proportions — either the village idiot or a criminal mastermind. I wonder who hired her.
