There’s several versions but the short story is the remains of a dummy round was in the gun barrel and no one cleared it before loading a blank. It killed him.

No. Brando was killed by a dummy round that I believe sheared off and hit him in the gut severing an artery.
The one you are thinking of is Jon Erik Huxum. He was playing with a gun and had unloaded all but one blank round, spun it, and simulating Russian roulette, he put the revolver to his right temple and pulled the trigger, and the blank paper wad went through his temple and killed him.
Pretty good retrospective of Bruce Lee’s Career that helps explain the environment of film making that defined martial art movies in the 20th Century. Cause of death is almost not relevant at the end because the story of his career is covered in a no nonsense way. Highly recommended.
