Movie gun props are mostly the province of a select handful of specialist suppliers with trained employees and rigorous safety procedures. Accidents tend to happen when corners are cut by producers hiring on the cheap.

anyone that handles a prop gun should be responsible for making sure they are safe - that includes the handlers and the actors- check and double check- there are no do-overs- no respawn events-

Why would a prop gun be able to chamber an actual live round? I am surprised they dont use a cartridge size that doesn’t exist that could be easily done, there are only so many actual calibre sizes around.

You can't blame Baldwin? His only defense is that he is a dumb ass.
You shouldn't point guns at people, loaded or not. Someone hands you a gun, the first thing you do is check to see if it is loaded. You really shouldn't point a gun at someone and pull the trigger. Pistols don't go off by themselves.
