LOL!............. A local highway here was widened a few years back, and there was a single gravesite that had been on an old homestead from the 1800’s that was on the right-of-way and had a small chain link fence around it.

The road department supposedly ‘moved the remains’ to a nearby cemetery so they could work on the road widening. I’ve always wondered if they really did or just said they did and moved the marker only.

Another thing that was odd about this particular grave is it had the date of death as ‘September 31st’..............................................

For such a tiny state Rhode Island is incredibly diverse. Lots of quiet rural landscape, tons of crazy urban weirdness. Birthplace of the industrial revolution in the U.S. and the coastline is gorgeous.

We have a graveyard on the grounds of the Tallahassee Airport - and it’s still active.
