Test kits are used on the spot, and the swabs are disposed of in the same manner as any other biohazard.
I asked my Dr about the disposal methods when I went for the 15 minute short swab test earlier this month.
So, I’m not sure how the Chinese are getting genetic info from test swabs.
Now, the 23andMe samples are another story.
