We do not know how expensive it is to keep a site as this going, and it is far better (based on my experience) than any in its class despite lacking some things, like a edit feature and toolbar to format html with (but there is the Cynwoody Free Republic Posting Form Enhancer for Firefox). If sites that don't ask for money at all or at most have a donate button at the top of the intro page can manage it then the feature can't be very expensive to implement.
