These monsters who have found themselves beyond filthy rich have deluded themselves into believing that they are somehow qualified to tamper with the Forces of Nature that can never possibly work out well. (Did Gates and his Partners never watch Sci Fi or Horror movies?)
I think that they actually are aware of that yet they are unmoved by the horrific damage and destruction that they can implement on our entire World.
This suggests to me that before they ever gained such prominence, they made their covenants with the ‘Prince of this World,’ in order to attain a brief privileged lifestyle.
I have no doubt whatsoever that they shall ultimately recognize that somehow it was never at all worth it.
