Parents should be packing those lunches anyway, IMO.
Mostly in grade school I ate bag lunches, often made myself once I learned how. Or I paid 25 cents for the school lunch. And early on if there was milk and graham crackers or something like that we paid.
There is no reason why children should get free meals. None. Their parents can pay for them, just as mine did.
