All the stuff I read said the restrictions couldn’t have him practice. But even if he can. Not available for home games. Or road games in Toronto. Or San Francisco. Or anyplace else with vax restrictions. Why even waste time practicing with a guy who will probably only be available for 40% of games. Or carry that salary. He’s made his choice. And they need to move on.

Things were shifting. They found out 4 days ago he was allowed to practice. They said they didn’t want to move on. That’s why this statement today is unbelievable nonsense. Anything can change. Who’s to say, the city’s ordinance could change? Even if the mandates don’t change, there could be some leeway within them. Irving could have applied for a religious exemption. There is also a potential loophole as a “non-resident” player, intended to refer to non-vaccinated opposing players. With Irving residing in New Jersey, that fine print could have given Irving another way onto the court for home games.
