I hate “cancel culture” as much as anyone, but I would have fired Gruden just because he comes across as an immature juvenile in these e-mails.

I couldn’t imagine Vince Lombardi, Don Shula or Tony Dungy sending a message like these.

My guess: Gruden’s salacious emails were done not only as Head Coach of the Raiders, but also when he was still an employee of ESPN. Both the Raiders and ESPN turned over the emails to NFL league offices.
