Then why do you reply to my post # 53 with “belling the cat”, (a pretty cynical outlook)? You come across as pretty cynical, as many today are.
Our ancestors did not bell the cat. They fought the cat and won, gambling on having superior numbers, dispersed fighters, and the homegrown ability to make cannon [why the Liberty Bell was so important].
The equivalent of belling the cat would be to have an ability to warn civilians and casually disarm the soldiers when the “British were coming”. There was no peaceful way to do it. They needed to come to violence.
