For years now most of the area parishes were saying

the Saint Michael prayer (in English) after every Mass but

for some unknown reason our Bishop has recently banned

prayers before and after Mass

the Missus and I say it quietly to ourselves but

they've made it difficult by going into the closing hymn

hot on the heals of the "go in peace"

I can only imagine why this practice has been eliminated without explanation but

too much speculation leads me to dark thoughts I'd rather not contemplate.
