Not that hard to live off of cheese and peanut butter crackers for six weeks, if you have access to water.
Six weeks is 42 days.
Need 1500 calories a day for comfort, and may scrounge some more calories from the environment.
About 11 ounces per day, at most. 11x42 = 462 ounces, or 29 lbs, at most.
Might get tired of peanut butter and crackers, but not so much if you are actually hungry.
More peanut butter and less cracker would bring the weight down a bit.

Not necessarily. I believe his parents have helped him since he arrived back home without Gabby.
Furthermore, I believe after he explained how he murdered her and then left her body exposed to the elements and animals, they lawyered up and shut up hoping nature would dispose of her body before found. In the meantime, while the authorities were watching their son under a microscope, the parents were allowed to come and go as they pleased which allowed them to set up his escape and hideout(s).
That’s how I see it. His parents are accessories after the fact as well as guilty of aiding and abetting a fugitive. Somebody put the thumb screws to his attorney while we’re at it.

They’re not unique to TN, they are native almost everywhere in North America. There’s even a specific subspecies native to Florida, the Florida black bear:

Brian was so self-reliant that Gabby’s father had to order food for his daughter and Brian on occasion during their trip.
He’s in Mexico. His survival skills will come in handy.
I have told people that I am OCE-P. They say, “OH! Obsessive Compulsive Disorder!” I say, “No, Obsessive Compulsive Enhanced Perfectionist.”. I simply do not know nor understand how other people can live without Obsessive Compulsive Perfectionism tendencies.
The dumb-founded looks on people’s faces when I tell them that makes me laugh. ;-)
