Not necessarily. I believe his parents have helped him since he arrived back home without Gabby.
Furthermore, I believe after he explained how he murdered her and then left her body exposed to the elements and animals, they lawyered up and shut up hoping nature would dispose of her body before found. In the meantime, while the authorities were watching their son under a microscope, the parents were allowed to come and go as they pleased which allowed them to set up his escape and hideout(s).
That’s how I see it. His parents are accessories after the fact as well as guilty of aiding and abetting a fugitive. Somebody put the thumb screws to his attorney while we’re at it.
I agree. I do not believe he ever stepped foot into the swamp. It was all a ruse and the cops fell for it.
