I think the Laundries are now public figures (or involuntary public figures) and cannot sue without establishing malicious intent.

my thought as well, but then it occurred to me that he’s deliberately provoking them: if he’s right, then they won’t sue; if he’s wrong, they STILL won’t sue because they would have to prove what they ACTUALLY did to disprove his assertions ... either way, it would be a win-win for justice ...
