I'd Love To Change The World - Ten Years After (1971)
Out On The YouTube ^

Posted on 09/21/2021 4:28:12 PM PDT by SamAdams76

Exactly 50 years ago today (a half century ago), this song debuted at #100 on the Hot 100.

It would only rise about halfway up the Top 100 but it got a lot of airplay at the time and still gets airplay on classic rock stations to this day.

Absolutely a great listen. Since I now wear hearing aids, you get the full quad experience

ZZ Top opened for TYA @ The Civic Center in Baltimore in 1972. Top, with only two albums at the time, blew the roof off the sucker. Ten Years After should have been the opening band. Not bad for under $6.00, plus parking of course.

King Crimson had many, many albums over the decades. Court of the Crimson King was their first. My favorite song on that album is Epitaph.

Greg Lake only hung around for one or two more albums then left to join ELP. Since then KC has had an ever-changing band, with the common denominator being Robert Fripp, the guitarist and, I think, songwriter.

I loved ELP until they released Love Beach the album after Brain Salad Surgery. One of my favorite ELP albums was Pictures at an Exhibition.

Just saw King Crimson over Labor Day. 3 drummers downstage. Powered out the classics!

That song was featured in the LWE speaker commercial in the early 70’s

Saw TYA and Mott the Hoople as the opening act at Harvard Stadium? And then a few days later just TYA at The Boston Tea Party venue. Their album Cricklewood Green is a collectors item. About $190

Saw them live in Albuquerque quite show. Welcome back my friend to the show that never ends. They did most of that album. Brain Salad Surgery.

Just be glad it wasn't "Love Beach".

I was in high school when it came out and thought it and Aerosmith’s “Dream On,” which was out about the same time, were the coolest songs I’d ever heard.

I’m sure you can find a lot of Crimson tunes, including live performances, on youtube.
