One factor was that the couple was posting videos of their van trip on social media and have been seen by millions of people.
This video was posted by the couple just days before Gabby disappeared.
Feds and LEO have used the internet to help them when they need more help.
I find it interesting that when my mom’s neighbor was murdered....LEO were incredibly tight lipped. They got their 5 people, tho. Murder for Hire. And morons to boot.
A beautiful girl missing under mysterious circumstances has been a mainstay of the media since Gutenberg.
It used to sell papers, now it sells ratings and internet clicks.
I’ve run it a few times. It looks like there is something lying on the ground next to the person kneeling in the field.

Because the last time she was seen was Utah/Wyoming. Dude showed up in Florida without her.
What ‘local’ area should it have been limited to? That’s a wide area to disappear in. Dude could have dumped her body in Missouri.

I’m not an expert on relationships, but I’ve always found those that were openly lovey-dovey to end badly. They were based on sex or emotions, but never intellectual maturity.
Why? That is definitely her van!
If she had been alive, then it would be a case of premeditated 1st degree murder.
If she were already dead, then it could be something else. But digging the hole before her death would not look good. Then again, he could have been digging a latrine.
Apparently the thought to look through the video they had recorded and noticed the van.
One good thing about modern social media is that it can get a lot of people involved who wouldn't even have known about the story in past times.
Along with that unfortunately comes some less than desirable things, like people picketing in front of a suspect's house, or otherwise getting in the way of the people actually working on the case.
