Not a very nice subject, treasonous secession and slave owing.

You Rebs are a never ending source of bemusement. You try to make relativist arguments about the merits of Confederate secession, particularly to a man like “Bro Joe K’’, a history professor and he makes fools out of you every time.

But you don’t give up. You keep saying the same things, over and over and get slapped for it, over and over.

Firstly, secession is a right given by God, and it is how this country separated from England. It is both moral and proper that peoples have the right to self determination.

Secondly, the Union owned slaves before the war, and the Union continued to own slaves after the war. The only difference between the Northern State Union and the Southern states was that the Northern state Union used murder and invasion to force their dominance over other states which did not want to be their slaves.

“Not a very nice subject, treasonous secession and slave owing.”

I leap to the conclusion that you think advocating consent of the governed is treason, and that any people with a connection to human bondage are disqualified from self government.

I respect your opinion. But to be clear, are you making a reference to the first American revolution or the second?
