The fiancé of missing 'van-life' woman Gabby Petito presents himself as a sweet and caring guy, but is actually jealous and controlling, her friend has claimed in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com.
Rose Davis said Brian Laundrie, 23, allegedly went so far as to hide Gabby's ID once so that she couldn't meet up with her at a bar, triggering a violent episode similar to the one police investigated weeks before her disappearance.
'Brian took her ID just so she wouldn't be able to come out with me,' she told DailyMail.com on Friday.
'He's got these jealousy issues and he struggles from what Gabby called these "episodes," where he would hear things and hear voices and wouldn't sleep.

These two both seem a bit crazy. Is it possible that this entire thing is an attention grabbing hoax that both of them cooked up?
Thing is, almost everyone is fascinated by a bonafide mystery and this is one with many twists and turns. Plus it’s a diversion to the Godawful messes Biden is churning out 24/7.

I've seen that idea floated by others and I discount it because their issues are real and in his case, could be dangerous. Hearing voices is very concerning.

Reminds me of a Dr. Laura caller who wasn’t happy in her marriage, but her control-freak, borderline abusive husband “seemed happy”. Dr. L. said, “He gets everything he wants. Why SHOULDN’T he be happy?” Gee, that was back around 2002, and I still remember it.

That's simply wrong. If you watch the police body cam videos of the encounter, and read the actual police report you will see police officers doing a very good job in dealing with what they described as a mental health crisis.
Ms. Petito assaulted her boyfriend, and did so because he was trying to get her to calm down according to the police report.
Yup. When the cops saw the van hit a curb they probably expected to pull over some stoners. DUIs from out-of-Staters are probably quite profitable.

The police did what was reasonable and logical at the time. The separated the two participants, interviewed them both, and interviewed the eyewitness who saw the original altercation.
The police decided not to arrest Ms. Polito for her attack on her boyfriend. Instead they made them stay the night apart from each other.
That seems like a reasonable action given what was known then.
As evident by your multitude of exceedingly argumentative posts, it seems you have personal experience from which we should all learn a lesson.

Brian Laundrie’s house was quiet all night. Nothing new yet from police today.
She was probably emotionally and psychologically tied to her abuser. I had next door neighbors like that. The young wife kept coming out of the house with bandages and bruises and making excuses for her own claimed awkwardness. Eventually two years later they were living in another part of town when he walked into the house drunk and shot her in the forehead in front of the two small children. He is currently vacationing long term in Raiford Resort. When he leaves there it will be in a box.

These stories are heart-breaking but evil doesn’t wear a sign.
