▪ As you know, two new Executive Orders have recently altered the expectations
for federal employees and contractors during COVID-19.
▪ EO 14043, Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees, creates a mandate for vaccination of all federal employees.
▪ EO 14042, Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors, directs federal agencies to incorporate vaccination requirements into their contracts.
▪ On 13-SEP, the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force updated the Model Safety Principles and associated Frequently Asked Questions for COVID-19. *** is required to revise our COVID-19 Guidelines and Safety Plan accordingly.
▪ The Model Safety Principles update was small and focused on incorporating the broad themes of the new EOs.
▪ The major points of note are:
• __A target date of 22-NOV-21 for all federal workers to obtain vaccine.__
• A statement that the federal government will provide future direction
to agencies on how to collect proof of employee vaccination status.
• Agencies are still directed to solicit vaccine status from contractors, or
to ask them to show documentation of a negative test. *** has not yet
implemented such a requirement and is evaluating how to proceed.
▪ The OMB has set a target date of 17-SEP to issue additional guidance around the
vaccine requirement. Neither the two new EOs nor the new Model Safety Principles update address what to do if federal employees are not vaccinated by the deadline.
▪ The OMB has stated that they do expect any future booster shot roll-out to follow a phased approach, much like the original vaccine.””
The only decision that remains is whether to just retire, or make them kick me out. There are good reasons for both approaches.
One of their work-arounds \might\ be that the vaxx is widely available _outside_ of your doctor’s office.
Doctor-patient may not exist.
That is, if you got the vaxx and think your info is protected by “Health Info Law”.
My comments after a selection of points in the minutes:

How long will it take to get the changes into —all— the contracts?

This is for federal workers, not federal contractors.

implemented such a requirement and is evaluating how to proceed.
There —is— a choice for contractors, get the shots or show proof of negative test.
▪ Neither the two new EOs nor the new Model Safety Principles update address what to do if federal employees are not vaccinated by the deadline.
This says federal employess, not federal contractors.
Maybe test out, and in the meantime get everything together so you can retire.
Make them kick you out. Seems like this may be halted by Nov 22nd. Just a logical guess.
