1. I have no confidence that the vaccines work.
2. I have no confidence that the vaccines will have no adverse long-term effects on me.
3. (AND THIS IS A BIG ONE) ... I can't reverse my course of action and "un-vaccinate" myself if I get a vaccine and #1 and/or #2 turn out to be legitimate concerns.
4. Since February 2020 I have simply seen to many misrepresentations, conflicting statements, and outright lies from people in positions of authority on various matters related to COVID-19. I go way back to the day in mid-March when I told a close friend of mine whose employer sent him to work from home when that "15 days to flatten the curve" nonsense was first announced: "I'll never believe anything we are being told about this disease while the same people who are shutting down restaurants, schools and businesses insist on keeping the New York City subway running."
You and I are on the same page my friend....almost word for word how I feel. You just layed it out much better than I ever could.

Indeed. It’s those irreversible decisions, which may turn out bad, which are the worse decisions to make. It becomes potentially a mistake you can’t recover from.
