According to what I read, the hospitals have a liability shield as long as they follow whatever protocol the CDC authorizes. This was part of the same act that gave the manufacturers/pharma immunity from liability.
Large hospitals with legal counsel and Administrators are going to stick with the liability shield. And doctors who try to treat patients any other way can be fired—and some have been—simply for treating their patients using their judgement and to the best of their ability.
Independent doctors don’t answer to administrators.
