The vax pimps often cite the Supreme Court case Jacobson v. Massachusetts, 192 U.S. 11 (1905), as justification for a vaccine mandate. Jacobson, however, dealt with a local health department requirement for smallpox vaccination. A key difference between Jacobson and today with COVID-19 is that the smallpox vaccine actually prevented people contracting or transmitting the disease.
Today’s so-called vaccines against COVID-19 don’t even claim to do that. In fact, before the CDC changed their definition of “vaccine” earlier this month, neither of the mRNA preparations could legitimately be called “vaccines.”
