Having some experience in the behavioral sciences, I am inclined to go one step farther.
I think Joe has found his life's destiny. He has stolen freely for decades, without consequences. He has succeeded politically despite a grievously diminished capacity. He has escaped exposure as a pedophile. Now he feels confident to step up to a lifetime's dream.
Joe may have decided that history has blessed him to become a dictator. His experiences with success has endowed him with a necessary ingredient: a sense of moral superiority. He has felt proven correct so often that he now senses that he is potentially infallible.
I have posted from time to time that without borders we stand to lose our sovereignty, to become just a 'territory'. I have also stated that a territory is ruled by the Strong Man. As Bitem and his gang have worked to destroy the normal structure of order in the country, Bitem is realizing his destiny to be that Strong Man, to impose his vision of order and power, as the image of the United States staggers out of focus, both domestically and on the world stage.
IOW, The Joe justifies his actions from a compelling sense of moral superiority... Come on, man!. He is so right, so correct, that there can be no room for dissent. We heard this in his justification for his withdrawal plan from Afghanistan - that was the only way this could be done; there is no other way.
Joe's philosophy of You can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs would fit the views of every dictator; essentially: The ends justify the means! His philosophy is, of course, colored by his diminished cognitive state. This pathology renders the individual defensive and often hostile if challenged. When assuming a position of leadership, such a bent personal view can become dangerous.
Joe's handlers need to keep a wary eye upon him while they can.

I agree. I’m hoping there also won’t be police and health officers to enforce the mandates. I assume they’ve all taken the vaccines in order to keep their enforcement positions. Somehow, we just have to outlast all of them.
I thought I read that the grand plan of the elites is for them to hide out underground while billions die and the survivors go all Lord of the Flies on each other. Then they’re supposed to appear from their bunkers with the promise of safety and order from danger and chaos.
If the survivors don’t all die of starvation, I’d like to think we’ll organize ourselves into a mostly peaceful self-governing and self-supporting group and play whack-a-mole when those who wrecked the world make their appearances from underground. It was inevitable. Originally the teachers' union went to a Leon County judge for a decision; Leon County houses the state's capitol which, like most seats of central government, is peopled by Deep State devotees. DeSantis let them have their fun for a short while.
If traditional values prevail, DeSantis shouldn't lose ultimately. He is standing for personal freedoms and parents' rights. The teachers argue that DeSantis is taking away their right to dictate school policy. IOW, the parents who think all students should wear masks are correct; a policy that allows individual parents to decide for their children is imposing their will on everyone.
