Since they’re already dead no need for you and me to figure why we should care.
No, proud. Like me.
“Should I be worried that I’ve never heard of ANY of these people?”
I’d say that from the end of WWII to about the late ‘60’s, America had a fairly homogenous culture. We’d all seen the same movies, and thanks to TV we had all seen movies back to the very start of film. Education was relatively uniform. We all read the same newspapers and magazines. But as time progressed we became separated by increasingly well funded projects to normalize homosexuality, abortion, anti-Americanism, anti-Christianity, and a host of pet projects like veganism, environmental extremism, racism, etc. Throw into the mix the internet and the opportunity to listen to or watch anything you’d like from silent movies to Taliban beheadings. What you end up with is a culture increasingly divided. To undo this would take a huge effort and lots of money. So far, there’s little obvious effort to recreate a homogeneous culture. Without it I can foresee a time when not only do states secede, but cities from states. I’m sure all that diversity coming into the country from the third world will bring us back together...
