From a commenter on The Conservative Treehouse to another on the issue of why people are not getting it:

Today I made the mistake of having a political discussion with my sister who, like most of my closest family members, is a devout Demo Commie.
The only reason I engaged was to try and get an idea about how these freaks feel about what’s going on with the forced vax, the muzzle masks, and the latest BS on the CCP virus.
Sad to say that things are worse than ever. Unbelievably worse because of the total brain washing.
Here’s a summary of the conversation:
Covid has a 40% fatality rate.
More people have died from Covid than from any disease in history.
There is no mass immigration from our southern border since President Trump left office.
Masks keep you from getting the virus.
There is no such thing as herd immunity or any kind of immunity even if you had the virus which, incidentally comes from bats.
People must be forced to get the shot regardless of their medical or religious beliefs.
Really scary that there are millions out there just like her and they vote.

I’ve heard similar beliefs from people I respected and considered (past tense) extremely intelligent, rational and appropriately skeptical. Some beliefs I STILL hear are:
“Vaccinated people can’t get the virus”
“If vaccinated people get the virus, their symptoms will be mild”
“Only unvaccinated people can spread the virus”
(all beliefs that magically spread in spite of all of the social media “misinformation” Czars)
Whoever came up with the messaging “Pandemic of the Unvaccinated” was as brilliant at they were devious. They have a complete mastery of human fear and how to use it to their evil advantage.
1. Scare the people into believing Covid is life or death for every person on the planet
2. Relieve their fear by telling them there is a vaccine
3. Once vaccinated, the fear masterminds can rest on their laurels. They know the peoples’ fear that the they made a mistake, fear of looking stupid, fear of being responsible for the deaths of other people (especially their own children) because they were stupid, fear that their government would kill people on purpose and may still be trying to kill them, and fear that are going die of the vaccine rather than the disease will be so terrifying and humiliating that they will cling for dear life to absolutely any explanation, no matter how absurd and blatantly false, rather than to accept any of those outcomes.

The thread on CTH did not have anything to do with WV data discussed here.
It was about Biden being called out by the CDC and NIH for stating booster shots are needed when officials at these agencies think it is to premature to say booster shots are warranted, effective, or safe.
But I fear at this point that what it is going to take is for whole households of vaxxed people to get really sick while the unvaxxed household next door reports being rundown for a day for people to get a clue.
Was visiting with my son today. In his 20’s. He said the only people he knows his age that have covid are vaxxed.
I work at a hospital in Florida. This is my personal observation- and no one is more surprised than I’ve been. I know over 20 people who have gotten covid in the last 6 weeks. They were all vaccinated. One died and two are still in ICU. Admittedly this is a small, unscientific sample, but it’s startling to me. Yet I see reports and horror stories that make me think what I’ve seen is rare.
I don’t know what’s true about this damned virus.
You forgot the final coup de grace of the fear, uncertainty, and doubt campaign i.e. If a vaccinated person does get covid it is because an unvaccinated person infected them therefor fear hate and loathe the unvaxxed. It is us or them so maybe if we can’t tie them down and stick a needle in their arms we should move on to more extreme measures - for the comon good of course.
