I continued trying to find the niacin content of nutritional yeast, Red Star being the biggest seller. Here’s a bit more info about it. These sources don’t specify which brand of nutritional yeast. These all apparently refer to fortified nut. yeast. I need to contact Red Star to find out exactly what B Vitamins and amounts thereof their nut yeast contains.

Nutritional yeast is an excellent source of niacin.

Just 1 tablespoon (11 grams) of nutritional yeast flakes may provide over 38 mg of niacin. That’s more than double the daily value for both men and women. (Goes on to describe facial flushing etc)

https://www.nutritionadvance.com/foods-high-in-niacin/

Nutritional yeast is a food product that usually comes in the form of flakes or powder.

This product adds a flavor-enhancing umami taste to food, and it is often described as having a cheesy flavor.

One tablespoon of nutritional yeast provides 39.4 mg of niacin, which is equal to 246% of the daily value (3).

Dr.Axe has different info:

Two tablespoons of nutritional yeast contains approximately:

45 calories
5 grams carbohydrates
8 grams protein
0.5 grams fat
4 grams dietary fiber
9.6 milligrams thiamine (640 percent DV)
9.7 milligrams riboflavin (570 percent DV)
9.6 milligrams vitamin B6 (480 percent DV)
7.8 micrograms vitamin B12 (130 percent DV)
240 micrograms folate (60 percent DV)
3 milligrams zinc (20 percent DV)
1 milligrams pantothenic acid (10 percent DV)
24 milligrams magnesium (6 percent DV)
0.1 milligrams copper (6 percent DV)
0.1 milligrams manganese (6 percent DV)
0.4 milligrams iron (4 percent DV)

Awesome dig. However, much to my chagrin, I don’t believe natural dietary niacin is going to be able to get people out of the hole they’ve dug their entire life. It’s been depleted from the soil just like magnesium. Supplementation is necessary.
