Anyone else notice the grocery store shelves are getting emptied out again and not being restocked?

Please check this Twitter thread. There are a great many comments about the shortages and pictures of empty shelves in various parts of the country.

Very interesting that so many see this as "on purpose" and a way to control us.

We are not set up for prepping. If the stores start to get empty, we will purchase what they have, and offer up what is missing as a form of fasting.

I work for a food company in logistics

The basic problem is a country wide labor shortage. Covid has gotten to be an excuse to not show up when ever someone wants time off.

When you short people goods do not get produced, freight does not get loaded/unloaded. Basically it the same problem of putting a kink in a garden hose.

That, and when you close every factory for 6-12 months for a plandemic, you may run into supply chain problems.

I have been dealing with empty shelves and trucks this whole year.

Our local paper in the South Bay of Los Angeles says there are something like 47 container ships waiting to be unloaded at the Ports of LA and Long Beach. All anchorages are full so some ships have to just drift while they wait. Normally, I think they said there are like 16 total at the ports.
Way, way too much stuff that Americans need or want to buy is floating just offshore.

Been seeing this for months now.

Every time we go... there is less.

I live in small town in South. Lots of people moving here. So many new people in our WM. They are loading up with canned goods.

How do I know they are new? ...their dress, their behavior plus never seen them before!

Our local (semi-rural) Kroger was nearly out of rice when I got there. I was re-stocking and bought 25 pounds. Not much left after that.

Otherwise (GA) looked pretty good.

FYI, that was Wednesday. Thursday is re-stock day for that Kroger, so no telling.

There are many non-perishable canned foods that do not take up a lot of room.

Just buy two of those things when you would normally buy one—before you know it you will be a bona fide prepper!

Is the problem labor shortages or there something political going on?

Thanks to
- Overgenerous unemployment bonus payments
- Irrational mask/vax requirements for employees
- These creating an open market for anyone wishing to work

Many of the less fun logistical jobs (like trucking stuff to stores!) are un- or under-filled. All the TP at the plant doesn’t do you any good unless someone is willing to cart it out to where you can buy it.

Even the megacorps who set this up are hurting; I drove by a digital billboard that, out of 6 ads that ran while I was waiting at a light, had 4 different Amazon job displays.

Corollary: anyone who gets the jab unwillingly under coercion from their employer is a loon.

There’s a huge logistics issue caused by a backlog unloading ships. Even if it’s not food, if the item requires packaging and that comes from overseas, they can’t send their product to market. This problem won’t be sorted until after new years 2023.

Supply chains are still definitely being disrupted. I think a lot of is it still trying to get back on track after last year.

My wife buys very little canned food. She's the healthy living one in our operation. We might have more refried beans, and that's about it.

Yes. Shopping yesterday, mid day when shelves should be restocked, there were a lot of gaps. I am a little ashamed to say I bought 2 of everything and items not on my list.

I wonder if this tracks back to companies firing people for not taking the graphene oxide injection.

I’ve noticed lots of things not being stocked. A certain brand of wipe, a propane regulator, a brand of yogurt, a type of ice cream bar. And that’s just in the last week.

I told FrogDad, we’re getting more and more like the Soviet Union.

Plus you don’t have people to pick and pack orders - especially in cold storage - most freezer warehouses have 50% less people per shift than they need to load trucks.
