Many common drugs and medications have effectiveness and uses far outside their usual applications. Preparation H, a remedy for hemorrhoids, was once marketed as a treatment for acne. Even common aspirin, once used largely for control of pain of headaches, has expanded into many other uses for which it has been found to be effective. So for ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine to be found effective in what up to now has been considered an “off-label” use, is not some mysterious magical potion, but a real and legitimate purpose, backed up with a number of successful field trials.
