Several years ago, a black 19-year-old phoned in to the Rush Limbaugh show and said that he did not like to be called black because that was not his skin color and did not like African-American because he felt no connection with Africa. He told Rush that he preferred to be called a Negro.

Even the darkest Africans I’ve see just look dark brown to me. Most just look medium brown. Why is “Black” okay when it’s not even an accurate description?
